In this blog, nutritionist Avni Kaul shares 4 simple yet effective daily habits to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
1. Develop a sleep routine and protect it with your life
No matter if it’s a weekend or a new Netflix series or excess workload at office, always stick to your bedtime routine. Set a time to go to bed every day and protect that time with your life. Remember most of the common mental and physical health issues originates largely from poor sleep routine – like depression, mood swing, lack of concentration, hypertension, diabetes and more.
2. Create a morning ritual.
The best part of maintaining a sleep routine is that it will gradually let you wake up wonderfully fresh every morning.
With a fresh and happy morning, develop a healthy morning rituals like go for cycling, morning walk or for run. If you are not an outsider person you may start meditation and yoga and enjoy a healthy breakfast. Whatever it is that makes you feel supercharged, kickstart your day with that habit.
3. A shift from Caffeine, Soda, Alcohol to More Water
While a lot of people cannot have a day without a sip of coffee, tea, soda or wine but in reality, nothing can compare with the wonders that drinking adequate water every day can do to body and mind. Hence built a habit to carry a water bottle with you and drink 2 to 3 liters of water every day. This habit will help you detoxify your body, improve your metabolism, help you to reduce weight, make your mussels and mind fit and healthy.
4. Eat real food
The food we eat has a huge effect on our health and mental wellbeing. The more we eat junk and fast food (made with artificial and synthetic ingredients) the more we risk ourselves for certain diseases life-shortening and mental diseases like – attention deficiency, depression, high level of cholesterol .diabetes are some of the common illness that is triggered by junk and fast food. Hence build a habit to eat daily healthy and natural fruits, vegetables and home cooked meals.
