Will you monitor my weight gain during pregnancy?

Yes, absolutely. Your weight gain will be monitored regularly through our app. You’ll update your weight daily, and a progress chart will track your weight gain every trimester.

We follow the guidelines set by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), but it’s important to understand: these are guidelines, not rigid rules.

Whether you are conceived underweight, overweight, or at a normal weight, your diet and target weight gain will be customized accordingly. Remember, weight alone is not the best indicator of pregnancy health – scans and screenings are far more reliable. Some women gain less or more than the recommended range and still have healthy pregnancies. Our focus will be on nourishment, not just numbers.

I’ve never been able to follow a diet plan. What if I fail?

Don’t worry—we’re not looking for 100% adherence. Our goal in the Pregnancy Nutrition Program is nutritional adequacy, not perfection.

For example, during the second trimester, your protein needs increase. If you weigh 60 kg, you’ll need at least 60g of protein, plus an additional 10–15g. In the third trimester, that requirement may rise to 75–85g.

As a Pregnancy Nutritionist, I will tailor your maternal nutrition plan to your exact needs, and with daily food journaling, we’ll gently steer you back on track whenever needed. If you miss something, we’ll help you correct it without judgment.

I’m a strict vegetarian. How will I meet my protein needs?

No problem. We’ll focus on high-biological-value vegetarian protein sources like paneer, milk, chaach, lassi, tofu, and soy. If your protein needs can’t be met through food alone, we may recommend therapeutic protein supplements—not gym protein powders. These are safe and specifically designed for maternal nutrition.

Do I really need to eat for two?

No, that’s a common myth. Your calorie needs do increase during the second and third trimesters, but not dramatically.

We’ll build trimester-specific, culturally sensitive meal plans that respect your routine, tastes, and lifestyle. Every plan is custom-made and evolves with your pregnancy.

Our focus will also be on ensuring you’re getting enough iron, calcium, and micronutrients, based on your medical reports and doctor’s feedback.

What’s the minimum duration I can sign up for?

We offer two options:

* 12-month program (recommended)

The 12-month plan covers your entire pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding journey. I’m also a certified lactation counselor, trained in supporting early motherhood challenges like colic, latching issues, and more.

You don’t need to navigate this journey alone—we’ll guide you through every step, with evidence-based support and compassion.

What if I develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy? Will you help with that?

Yes, absolutely. If you develop gestational diabetes (GDM), we will support you at every step.

  • Using our app, you’ll be guided to regularly monitor your blood sugar levels. We will provide:
  • A list of high glycaemic load foods to avoid
  • Detailed information on the glycaemic index and glycaemic load of common Indian foods
  • Serving sizes and available carbohydrate counts
  • Diagnostic criteria for GDM
  • Target blood sugar levels:
    • Fasting
    • Pre-meal
    • 1-hour post-meal
    • 2-hour post-meal
