The summers are not far away. After few days, the summer will be here in full bloom. Many among you may not like summers as the temperatures raises and it also brings a high amount of sweating.

When one sweats excessively it is never a pleasant moment for him/her. But what can be done to counter it? Maybe you can opt to sit under shade to protect yourself from the sun or go to places where one can find cooling effects of air-conditioners (A.C.), this will give you momentary relief only but not full-time relief. So, what can be done? Have you ever thought about countering excessive sweating with the help of foods? Yes, this is possible.

In this article, Delhi’s Top Dietician, Nutritionist, and Founder of Nutri Activania, Avni Kaul talks about foods that help you reduce excessive sweating.

Water

This one is not a puzzle. You can keep your body cool with water; it would not work so hard to decrease your internal temperature through sweat but can keep you hydrated. If one is worried about sweating at the school or office, have a refillable water bottle nearby to drink on throughout the day.

Fruits and Vegetables Rich in Water

Between your morning and noon coffee or tea breaks you might struggle to get your daily 8 glasses of water. But do not worry, there are other alternatives to water that will get you there.

Include fruits and vegetables having high water content into your diet to decrease sweat. Some of them are cauliflower, brinjal, spinach, watermelon, strawberries, oranges, cucumber and grapes.

Calcium

Calcium is another important mineral which regulates body temperature and assists in suppressing sweat. Struggling to get in your regular serving of calcium? Have some milk in your morning cereal, take flax/sesame seeds and take curd to work for added sweat protection.

Almonds

Almonds are a rich source of magnesium; they also improve digestion and strengthen the immune system. Other magnesium-based foods like the pumpkins, spinach and soya beans can also help reduce sweat.

Bananas

Bananas are high in potassium, but what does that imply for your body? Potassium is an electrolyte that assists you in keeping yourself hydrated. Having magnesium, vitamin B6 and other nutrients, bananas also promotes well-being, calmness, and improves digestion.

Sweet Potatoes

Rich with essential vitamins, sweet potatoes can also calm your nerves, counter stress and reduce your blood pressure.

Green Tea

Green tea is popular for its calming impact, keeping your nervous system and sweat at bay. Have some green tea before a nerve-wracking task to take the edge off and stop signs of sweat.
