The relevance of Health and Nutrition Coaching for Improvement in Productivity and Satisfaction

Table of Contents

Health and Nutrition Coaching offers tools, incentives, privacy, social support, and strategies to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Most workplaces do a decent job of helping employees improve their overall health behaviours or lifestyles.  In fact, it would be safer to say that workplaces both private and public are better able to prevent chronic diseases and act as disease prevention centres.

Health and Nutrition Coaching leads to a reduction of elevated health risks.  High blood cholesterol, elevated blood glucose, and high blood pressure are almost all caused by unhealthy diets and lack of physical activity.  Exercising and eating should be part of the routine to avoid many diseases.

Benefits of Wellness programs

Hospitals are ideal for treating diseases and at an early detection of the disease. However, they do not offer much in the way of disease prevention.

  • Worksites are well equipped to do more to capture, prevent, and even reverse chronic diseases than any other groups in society. The total reach and impact of that worksite wellness program have overshadowed all other efforts to improve the health and well-being of adults.
  • Health and Nutrition Coaching will build and help sustain high employee morale. Employees will benefit by being healthier and more importantly happier.
  • An all-inclusive Health and Nutrition Coaching will aid in improving employee health and improve productivity and satisfaction of your organization. An effective Health and Nutrition Coaching will improve the lives of your employees and help drive the success of your organization.

Health & Productivity

One of the types of poor productivity of the employees, described as Presenteeism or ‘being physically at work but not working actually’, attributes mostly to the poor health. The cost that is associated with the production loss due to that disoriented employee is two to three times greater than the direct health care expenses. Hence, healthcare prevention coaching is a necessity in corporate areas.
