What should be your ideal daily diet if you are getting married this year?

Do you have the most special day of you of life on this year’s calendar? And are you planning to wear your wedding Lehenga or Banarasi saree on the slim and well-shaped body with glowing skin and silky hair? Remember a makeup or a makeover may help you look best from outside but to look best from inside you need to improve your diet and nutritional intake at least 6 months prior to your wedding day, suggests Delhi’s top wedding dietician and nutritionist Avni Kaul.

Avni adds that bridal nutrition and health plan is specifically designed and customized diet for every girl and groom as per her age, height, body composition analysis, and metabolic profiling.  A good bridal plan offers a sustained weight loss solution, enhances the health of skin and hair, and it can also boost sexual and fertility health of women and men.

In this article wedding nutritionist, Avni Kaul shares some of the key tips for pre-wedding Indian bridal diet.

Keep It Simple

There is  no need to get creative with complicated recipes and unfamiliar ingredients. Eat what you are habituated of and what is most convenient for you and for your family to cook. In fact your expert nutritionist & dietician should develop an ideal diet plan designed specifically for you, considering your likes and dislikes and your eating preferences at home , recipes which are local to you. Have small portions at regular intervals so that there is sustained release of energy and glucose and it will keep hunger pangs at bay.

Healthy drinks

Limit or eliminate soft drinks and artificial juices to keep calories in check. Consume whole fruit instead so that the feeling of fullness is there. Plus you get the wholesome nutrition of a fresh fruit which gets lost in juicing as most of the time packaged ones remove the fibre. Rather increase your daily water intake to 3 liters to flush out toxins and keep your body hydrated.

Also, start taking Nimbu Pani or coconut water every day. Coconut water is packed with nutrients that improve hair and skin quality and help them to look great. Nimbu Pani is a good source of Vitamin C. Again very good for immunity and well being. It is an antioxidant that will give a glow and keep infections away.

Don’t skip Breakfast

Remember your body metabolism is at its peak in the morning, and it gradually slows down by the time you have dinner.  And the better your body metabolism would work the better would be the results of your weight loss efforts.

Healthy snacks

If you get a craving for snacks, then instead of having desi pakoras or samosas go for unsalted almonds & walnuts, Roasted makhani. Roasted chana or seasonal fruits or fresh juice water.

Exercise

If you are not a regular gym goer then start with daily morning walk prior your wedding. It would be added benefit if you do some 20 to 30 minutes daily free hand exercises too.
