You all may experience sore throat at some point in time every year. Coping with a sore throat is not a simple task. Sore throats generally caused by a bacterial infection which rises from flu-like symptoms such as fever chills and aches.

Nutritionist Avni Kaul says when one is suffering from sore throat eating is the least preferred thing that attracts you. However, eating nutritious foods can boost your body by providing you sufficient energy to recover rapidly.

In this article, Delhi based Nutritionist and Dietitian Avni Kaul talks about some the healing foods for your sore throat.

Bananas

Banana is a non-acidic fruit; it is a soft fruit that is gentle on your throat. It is quite simple to swallow, particularly when you have a sore throat. Along with this, the low Glycemic index food is also high in vitamins, B6, potassium, and vitamin C.

Honey And Lemon Juice

Lemon juice and honey mixture makes for a brilliant throat relieving alternative. A good remedy for inflamed throats, your sore throat will soon feel better as the inflammation decreases. This mixture will also soothe down your aggravated throat apart from thinning any congestion.

Ginger Tea With Honey

One of the best ways to calm an irritated and itchy throat, a hot cup of tea with ginger and honey is an awesome way of relieving your throat to feel better. Sip tea when inhaling the steam from the cup, and it will help in loosening congestion and tightness of the chest. Honey will coat the throat and will assist in preventing irritation, that is the main reason behind coughing fits.

Boiled Carrots

Carrots work as super remedy food when you are sick, but they need to be boiled or steamed before eating. This is because consuming raw carrots can be risky for your sore throat and can further alleviate the pain. Other than this, carrots are also high in nutrients, like vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, fiber and potassium.

Scrambled Or White Eggs

They are easy to digest bland proteins, scrambled or egg white assists in dealing with inflammation and the pain of sore throat. However, make sure you do not eat the dish with spices as it can worsen the soreness of the throat.

Cabbage

Eating cabbage can greatly lower the inflammation and pain caused in your throat as it contains plenty of antioxidants including nutritious components like Vitamin C and Vitamin K. Mixing cabbage with a bit of apple cider vinegar could be very helpful for your sore throat.
