best dietician Avni Kaul benefits of apple cider vinegar

You may have vinegar in your pantry. Plenty of us do. It’s several purposes include preservation, flavoring, pickling, and medicinal use. It has a good history in ancient Africa, China, and Greece as a health aid. Apple cider vinegar contains antimicrobial and antioxidant abilities, and some research is available to back up a few wellness claims of it’s benefits, says dietician Avni Kaul.

When you mix apples, sugar, and yeast and let it ferment, it makes apple cider vinegar. Over multiple weeks, the yeast will digest the sugar to produce alcohol. Once it happens, natural bacteria will turn the alcohol into the form of acetic acid, which is where the pungent odor and taste of apple cider vinegar comes from. Apple cider vinegar has multiple uses as stated above and one of them is for our health.

This blog from India’s eminent dietician in Delhi Avni Kaul shares the health benefits that you can avail of from apple cider vinegar.

Kills harmful bacteria

Those wanting to preserve food naturally might consider using apple cider vinegar. It is a well-known pathogen killer, which includes microbes such as staph and candida.

Vinegar is a popular preservative in Korea since it helps prevent E. coli and norovirus from growing in food. E. coli can cause food poisoning when eaten, but the bactericidal impacts of the acetic acid in apple cider vinegar prevents it from occurring.

Might help in managing blood sugar and diabetes

Type 2 diabetes happens from insulin resistance, or the body’s inability to form insulin.

Even if one does not have diabetes, it is beneficial to keep blood sugar levels within the normal range. Studies have indicated that apple cider vinegar could improve insulin response and reduce blood sugar levels after meals.

Drinking apple cider vinegar before going to sleep reduces fasting blood sugar after waking. Make certain to talk to your doctor or a dietician before consuming apple cider vinegar if you have diabetes, particularly if you are on medication.

Might lead to weight loss

Another benefit of consuming apple cider vinegar is that it might help with weight loss. When consumed before or during a meal, it has been shown to help with satiety or the feeling of fullness.

In a study, participants consumed approximately 200 to 275 fewer calories when apple cider vinegar was mixed with a meal. Over a three-month period, participants taking 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar each day saw up to 1.67 kilos in weight loss and a reduction in body fat.
