Vegetables

Those vegetable with high water content must top the list, as they assist hydrate your body from within. Foods like onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, cabbage, cauliflower, carrot, and sprouts must find a place on your plate, as they serve to cool your body from within while providing the daily quota of healthy nutrients.

Gooseberry

Not only is gooseberry or amla a great refresher, it also assists reverse the ageing effects of the sun and provides you with added stamina for gym sessions. It boosts the heart, hair, and different glands.

Apricot

If one is prone to skin breakouts or acne during the summer, apricot can help. It gives iron, vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. Enjoy it as a great pre-and post-workout snack.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk is better and healthy than diet soda. It not only cools your body but is one of the healthiest summer drinks to have. Drink a glass a day to avoid dehydration and digestion issues that mainly happen during the summer times.

Corn

Nothing elevates stress when one has to work in extreme heat. So have some corn. It is a good source of pantothenic acid, which gives vitamin B to reduce stress levels. Boiled corn is a great snack or a lunch takeaway as it reduces cholesterol levels and is high in essential carbohydrates.

Cardamom

Look no further than a cup of Elaichi chai for an instant cool down. Cardamom has some great detoxifying properties to effectively cool down even during the most hot-headed days.

Mango

Mangoes when chilled are the juiciest fruits to cool off, but if you are looking for a bit of spice, try unripe mangoes as they are a rich source of pectin. Steam and juice with cumin (jeera) and salt for that an excellent remedy from heat stroke and exhaustion.

Curd

Instead of gorging on the ice-creams, kindly go for a healthy alternative in the form of curd. Curd is not just healthy but also acts as a cooling food for your stomach. It is specifically helpful against ulcers and heat boils.
