Have you gained weight all of a sudden? Do you feel fatigued and lethargic all the time? Well, this is because you have a slow metabolism. Sadly, when this happens, you will gain weight. And no matter how less you eat or how much you exercise you will not be able to lose the flab. So, you must increase your metabolism. The question comes HOW? The answer is by consuming the correct foods in the right quantities.
In this article, India’s top nutritionist and Dietician Avni Kaul share 5 amazing foods to enhance your metabolism naturally. Read here to know which are the best metabolism-boosting foods.

Green Tea

Green tea remains the undisputed winner in the category of best natural weight loss drink. The catechins in green tea epicatechins (EC), epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), and epigallocatechin (EGC) are antioxidants. This help to scavenge the harmful oxygen radicals and counter oxidative damage to the cells, DNA, and cellular functions. When you prepare green tea the correct way, the antioxidants help guard the cells, which function normally and keep your metabolism going.

Drink 3 to 4 cups of green tea every day to enhance your metabolism along with energy levels and weight loss.

Protein Rich Foods

Protein-rich foods like lean meat, chicken breast, and fish. Legumes, beans, tofu, mushroom, and soy are great for pumping up your metabolism. They keep your hunger in control and prevent you from consuming too much food, particularly junk food. When you consume less junk food your body will stop storing fat, decrease inflammation and stress, and support your cells to carry out their functions.

Consume a source of protein with every meal so that you can keep your metabolism firing. You can also consume protein powders if you do not get to consume sufficient protein (0.8 g protein per kg body weight/day) from whole foods.

Fenugreek Seeds

If there is a wonder ingredient that can boost up your metabolism and help you reduce fat, it is fenugreek. Fenugreek seed extract helps improve metabolism by decreasing adipose tissue in the body and increasing digestive enzymes, blood glucose levels, antioxidants, and insulin sensitivity. You can add fenugreek seeds to curries or detox water and will observe great results in just a few weeks.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is only a spice you use to increase the taste of cakes and pancakes. This modest spice is a natural weight-loss agent that works by boosting the metabolic rate. Cinnamon assists in increasing insulin sensitivity lowers blood sugar levels and decreases blood pressure. The ideal way to use cinnamon is to buy Ceylon cinnamon, crush it, and store it. Use this powder in your teas, soups, and salads.

Apple

Apples are good for our health. Apples are a rich source of antioxidants, flavonoids, and dietary fibre, that helps reduce inflammation, improve metabolic rate, lower LDL (bad) cholesterol, and improve lipid profile and insulin sensitivity. Have one apple a day to lose weight fast and naturally without overworking at the gym or depriving yourself of good food.
