Life can be really difficult at times. A big pimple crop up the day before an important date, your lips become chapped and cracking the morning ahead of your big date, or you are not able to get rid of the yellow spots on your teeth. No one really likes having low self-confidence and looking bad so why not fix that? Even good, why not fix it by eating your favorite foods?

Nutritionist Avni Kaul says, all those skin issues, bad odors, and other little bit strange body problems you all experience can be fixed with a little help of certain fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

In today’s article Delhi’s top dietitian and nutritionist Avni Kaul shares some wonder foods that help you to look good and confident.

Read on to know about foods that will enhance your appearance, and also, your self-confidence.

Strawberries – For White Teeth

Strawberries have a natural teeth whitener called malic acid, which assists break down the bacteria that builds up on teeth and causes discoloration. It also aids strengthen the enamel. Have this yummy fruit in a smoothie, top on toast, or eat fresh. You can also make a homemade whitening kit by mixing strawberries and baking soda.

Cucumbers – For Clear Skin

Cucumbers act as anti-inflammatory agents because they are filled with many antioxidants. They also help with hydration due to its high-water content. All of these benefits lead to clean, refreshed and rejuvenated looking skin. Cucumbers are also used in many detoxes because they help to cleanse the body.

Papaya – For Anti-Aging

Everybody hopes to be forever young. You can be really close to that by eating this wonderful superfood which is rich in a variety of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that helps to improve skin elasticity and drastically reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These include vitamin A, C, E and K, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and B vitamins.

The wide range of antioxidants presents in papaya helps to counter free radical damage and delay the signs of aging. Papaya also contains an enzyme called papain, which gives additional anti-aging benefits by working as one of nature’s best anti-inflammatory agents. It’s also found in many exfoliating products.

So yes, eating papaya (or using products having papain) can help your body shed dead skin cells, leaving you with glowing and vibrant skin.

Nuts – For Strong Nails

After several times at the beauty salon, sometimes your nails still look dead, thin, and not something you want to shake hands with. Nuts, such as walnuts are full of fatty acids that help strengthen brittle nails and provide smoothness to the nail. In addition to fatty acids, the proteins and zinc found in few nuts, like peanuts and almonds, help to strengthen as well.

Nuts are a simple thing to add to your diet, just have some in a bag and go.

Bananas – For Reducing Bloating

It is amazing how helpful bananas are with reducing bloating. Bananas are high in potassium, so they control high sodium intake and decrease the extended belly effect. Bananas also contain high amounts of soluble fiber, which helps your bowel movement more (fractional, but important).

Raw Vegetables – For Good Breath

There is no better feeling than chewing into a cold, crunchy, and fresh vegetable. Raw vegetables that are high in vitamin C, like colorful bell peppers, mint, and broccoli. It helps to break down the bacteria that grows in our mouth and prevent bad breath.

Also, when consumed raw they almost act like a brush and break off any stray pieces of food. The good news is that they are commonly found in Indian foods, so you can continue ordering without any problem.

Other Important Factors:

Definitely eating healthily can help boost your looks and self-confidence, there are other alternatives to help make you feel as lovely as you really are. Have plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, socialize with people that lift you higher, and love yourself for who you are actually.
