Custard apple, sugar apple, Sharifa Fruit, as called in India is the fruit with its origin in West Indies and South American continent. It has a typical scaly look and taste that reminds of custard and cooked apple. This not only has the sweet taste and fragrance but immense health benefits as well. Ayurveda also uses this as a medicine to cure many health disorders. Here are few interesting health benefits and nutrients of Sharifa that might surprise you.

Curtails heart risks

Sharifa or Custard apple is very good for the heart, as it contains potassium and magnesium in ample quantity. This also has flavonoids and tannins phytochemicals, which balances lipid levels and blood pressure. Thus, keeps your heart in a fine shape.

Improves vision

A known eye stimulant because of the presence of vitamin C & A, riboflavin, and vitamin B2 that fights free radicals and controls cell obliteration, it helps to improve the vision.
