Certain studies have shown that fenugreek seeds facilitate weight loss in different ways. Fenugreek might help you lower your dietary fat calorie consumption. A 14-day study of 12 healthy people found that consuming 1.2 grams of fenugreek seed extract decreased their daily calorie consumption by almost 12%. Also, the fiber in fenugreek was shown to aid weight loss by promoting satiety.

Some of the right ways to use fenugreek for weight loss

Fenugreek comes in several forms, though the simplest way to use it is as a cooking spice. Fenugreek seeds could be used whole or ground in spice blends or dry rubs, while fenugreek leaves will add flavor to your curries, stews, and soups.

That said, the majority of human studies suggest that the weight loss benefits of fenugreek are associated with higher doses, like those found in isolated fenugreek fiber or fenugreek extracts.

Fenugreek supplements are found in pill or capsule form but also alongside other ingredients in various supplement blends.

It’s also available in powder form made from ground seeds of the fenugreek plant. Fenugreek is usually consumed as herb-infused water in certain remedies. Fenugreek water, also known as methi water, is made by soaking 1–2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.

Some opt to warm the fenugreek water before drinking it and sip it like tea. It is mostly consumed first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
