What are Probiotics?

Probiotics are the bacteria/yeasts that contain powerful attributes beneficial for both our body and brain. Probiotics are good for your skin, too. It helps you to have younger and healthier skin. Probiotics are indispensable to natural and healthy living. Several probiotic bacteria, such as Lactobacillus, are healthy for your overall system.

You might be wondering, “But what about India?” Do we not have sufficient Indian Probiotic foods? India has several delicacies of probiotics that are eaten daily by us. South India is famous for its cuisine, which is probiotic in nature. Let’s check those delicacies.

Soya Milk

An Indian drink which is high in probiotics and nutrients such as proteins, Soya milk is lactose-free and therefore good for people who are intolerant to lactose. They can drink soya milk daily. It will reduce your cholesterol level and help with weight loss.

Soya Milk is also a good source of Omega-3, Omega-6 6 fatty acids, and several Phyto antioxidants which are known to boost your blood vessels.

Yogurt

Yogurt has one of the finest and friendliest bacteria, which is excellent for your system. It is made by adding useful bacteria like lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria to milk. Probiotic yogurt is high in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin K.

Eating yogurt daily helps to improve digestion, makes your bones healthy, and also helps people who suffer from high blood pressure.  Consuming probiotic yogurt is directly associated with lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Paneer

Paneer is another good example of Indian probiotic foods. This is a top source of protein that does not have a high volume of fat. 100 grams of paneer have 11 grams of protein. Paneer is also an excellent source of calcium, which is essential for the development of your bones and teeth.

South Indian Foods

South Indian foods such as Idli, dosa, vada, and several other cuisines are made by fermenting rice and lentils, which are a good source of carbohydrates and protein.
