While monsoon is at its peak, many among us are possibly facing hair loss issues as this high-on-humidity weather makes our hair chemical structure absorb the excess hydrogen from the air, causing the hair to swell until hair’s smooth cuticle erupts to turns frizzy.  But now you can keep hair loss worries at bay.

According to India’s top Nutritionist Avni Kaul, people can keep hair-loss worries at bay during monsoon as well as for the rest of the year, if a balanced diet is taken that includes nutrients that are essential for healthy hair, such as:-

1. Eggs

Eggs are a great source of biotin which is essential for the production of a hair protein called keratin. And Keratin level in the body is important to maintain healthy hair and hair growth. Eggs are also a wonderful source of zinc, selenium, and other hair-healthy nutrients. It makes them one of the finest foods to eat for optimal hair health

2. Spinach

Spinach is loaded with nutrients like folate, iron, and vitamins A and C, all of which help in hair growth.  Vitamin A helps the skin glands produce sebum which is an oily substance that helps moisturize the scalp and keeps hair healthy. Iron helps red blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body to fuel your metabolism and aid growth and repair.

3. Soybeans

Soybeans contain a compound called spermidine that supports hair growth. According to a study conducted by scientists on the minimum audible angle (MAA)(Source – https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29214104), it was found that a spermidine-based nutritional supplement prolonged a phase of active hair growth called the anagen phase. More a hair follicle stays in the anagen phase, the longer it will continue to grow.

4. Almonds

Almonds are a great source of nutrients that support healthy hair. It contains B vitamins, zinc, and essential fatty acids. A deficiency in any of these nutrients has been linked directly to hair loss.

5. Sweet Potatoes

Vitamin A  also speeds up the rate of hair growth and boosts the growth of thicker hair, all while preventing other hair follicles from regressing.
